I recently started treatment with Pemetrexed 1000mg Inj 1 Vial for mesothelioma. The doctor explained that it works by interfering with the growth of cancer cells. To manage side effects, I have to take folic acid and vitamin B12 supplements, along with a steroid medication called dexamethasone before treatment. I'm definitely nervous about the side effects, especially the severe ones. Has anyone else had experience with this drug? What should I really expect?

I agree, communication with your doctor is key. But don't forget to take care of yourself mentally too. The emotional toll can be just as tough. Lean on friends and family, and if you have a support group, don't hesitate to join. It makes a world of difference.

I had a friend who was put on this medication and she ended up in the hospital because of high blood sugar. It’s scary stuff, so definitely keep an eye out for those symptoms.

I was scared of the nerve issues, but I managed with the help of supplements. The fatigue was tough, but manageable with rest and a good routine. Staying hydrated helped a lot too. But the constipation was a bummer that I had trouble managing.
