I've been prescribed Phenobarbital 97.2mg tablets to manage my epilepsy and anxiety. The medication has been effective in controlling my seizures and helping me sleep better, but I've also experienced some side effects. I'm curious to hear from others who have taken this medication. How has it worked for you? What side effects have you experienced, and how have you managed them? I've noticed some dizziness and drowsiness, but nothing severe. I'm interested in hearing about others' experiences with more serious side effects, like Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, or even some of the more common ones like hallucinations. I've reported the side effects to my doctor, who advised me to monitor them closely. I've also reached out to the FDA and reported the side effects through their website. If you need to report them, you can do so at https://www.fda.gov/medwatch. I'm not the only one taking this medication for anxiety or sleeping issues, so I'm sure there are others out there who can relate. Do you think the benefits of Phenobarbital outweigh the risks? Let me know your thoughts and experiences in the comments. Let's discuss!

I started taking Phenobarbital because nothing else worked. I've noticed that it's made me really sleepy and a bit disoriented, but I'm just grateful it’s working. It's hard to tell if the side effects are worth the benefits. It really depends on the person.

I've been on Phenobarbital for a while now, and it's been a lifesaver for my seizures. The drowsiness is annoying, but I'd rather deal with that than have a seizure. I've had a few bouts of restlessness but nothing too bad. Keep in mind, it can take some time for the dosage to be adjusted, so stick with it!

This medication has been a game-changer for my anxiety. I've had no trouble with seizures since I started my meds.

I've had a terrible experience with these! I got a skin reaction so bad I ended up in the hospital. My doctor said it was Stevens-Johnson Syndrome. If you notice any skin issues, please get medical help right away. It's scary but important to pass this info along. It wasn't worth it for me. I'll be looking into other options now.

I've heard that some people have trouble with withdrawal symptoms if they try to stop taking it. Anyone have any tips on how to handle that?

Be careful, I had a bad reaction where my tongue swelled up so badly I could barely breathe. Ended up having to go to an emergency room. That’s when I learned just how dangerous these can be. My doctor said I probably have a rare sensitivity to the medication. Since then, I've avoided Phenobarbital and similar drugs.

I’ve also been on Phenobarbital for a while. It has drastically reduced my seizures, but honestly, the dizziness is something I can’t get used to. I just hope it’s worth it. When I first started, I had some intense bad dreams. It really Freaked me out, but I got used to it. It's a trade-off that I'm willing to make.

I wish I had known about the hallucinations before I started taking this. I had a really scary experience with them. I guess it could have been worse, though. If this is your only option, talk to your doctor about managing those symptoms.

I can't believe people are still taking a barbiturate! I was on it when I was a kid and it was terrible. I felt like a zombie.

I heard that these can become habit-forming and cause serious withdrawal symptoms if stopped suddenly. Just be cautious and don't stop taking them without medical supervision. Anyone know if the new CBD oils are any good for seizures?
