I've been prescribed Phenob/hyosc/atrop/scop Tablets for my irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and spastic colon. The doctor explained that it helps relax the muscles in my gut and reduces stomach acid, which should calm me down as well. However, I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects, especially the rare but serious ones. Has anyone else taken this medication? How did you handle the side effects? Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Have you tried any other medications for IBS? I found that diet changes helped me more than any medication.

I had some really bad constipation at the start. It was scary for a while, but it eventually sorted itself out. I think staying hydrated helped a lot. Still, it's important to monitor any severe symptoms and talk to your doctor if they persist.

I've seen a lot of people complain about the sedative effects, but I didn't have any issues with that. Is it possible to have an adverse reaction from the sedative?

I've been on these tablets for a few months now, and they've made a huge difference in managing my IBS. The drowsiness was a bit annoying at first, but it's definitely manageable. Just be careful with driving and operating heavy machinery.
