I've been taking Pirfenidone 267mg Tablets for about a year now to manage my Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). The medication has helped slow down the progression of my lung scarring, which is a relief. However, I've experienced a few side effects that have been challenging to deal with. Has anyone else had issues with Pirfenidone, and if so, how did you manage them? I'm particularly interested in hearing about how others have coped with the more serious side effects, as well as any tips for managing the common ones like stomach pain and weight loss. It's also interesting to hear how this drug works to preserve lung function despite potential complications. Let's discuss our experiences and share any insights we have!

My doctor made it very clear that I should call if I'm having any issues. Even though the serious side effects are rare, it's important to be aware of them and seek medical attention ASAP if they occur. It's better to be safe and get checked out.

I've been on Pirfenidone for about 6 months now. The biggest issue I've had is the sun sensitivity. I make sure to cover up and use sunscreen, but it's still really annoying. Has anyone found a good sunscreen or clothing line that works well?

I just started Pirfenidone and I am petrified of the liver problems. What makes you originally come to terms with taking it?

I'm curious, how does Pirfenidone actually work to slow down the scarring process? I've been trying to read up on it, but the science is a bit over my head. The drug is known for being hard to understand for the general public.

I've been on Pirfenidone for a year and a half and I've had no serious side effects! I wish more people would share their good experiences, not just the bad ones. I take it with food, which helps with the nausea, and I've noticed no major issues with my breathing. It's really helped me with my IPF. Just remember to keep an eye on your liver, as well as your heart.

I started taking Pirfenidone a few months ago and it's been a roller coaster. The first week was really tough with headaches, dizziness, and nausea. I had to adjust the dosage and now I'm feeling a bit better, but it's just hard to take all the different pills every day. I also take it with food, since it helps with the stomach issues.

I had a scary moment a few months ago. I woke up with a severe headache and chest pain. Went to the ER and they told me it was probably from the Pirfenidone. I had to stop taking it for a while, but now I'm back on it. Maybe discuss with your doctor about monitoring for these side effects before taking.

Be careful with Pirfenidone. If you experience any of the serious side effects, it's crucial to get medical help right away. I had a friend who ignored the signs and it was a close call. One of the serious side effects is liver problems, and it can really damage your liver if you don't get help quickly. Be sure to regularly test your liver function and keep an eye on those symptoms.
