I started taking Potassium Chloride 20meq ER Tablets a few months ago to manage my hypokalemia. I’ve noticed some side effects, but I’m wondering if others have similar experiences. Potassium is crucial for my heart, muscles, and nerves, so I want to ensure I’m taking the right steps. The side effects listed are quite concerning, especially the urgent ones. Has anyone else had issues like tightening of the chest or abnormal heartbeats? Also, I've heard that some people get a wax matrix appearing in their stool. Does that happen to anyone else? How do you know if it's a normal occurrence or something to worry about? This is an important discussion since many of us depend on these tablets. Let’s share our experiences and tips!

I think the most important thing is to monitor your potassium levels regularly. If you start feeling dizzy or lightheaded, don't ignore it.

I had severe abdominal swelling and diarrhea when I took these. Turns out I was allergic to something in the tablet. Saw a doctor immediately and switched to a different form of potassium. Definitely seek medical help if you feel something isn't right.

I noticed the wax matrix in my stool, but my doctor said it's normal. Just make sure you're taking it with plenty of water.

I get nervous about the high potassium levels side effects but the benefits are well worth it. Just check in with your doctor regularly and if you feel confused all of a sudden go to the hospital.

A friend of mine had an allergic reaction to these tablets, with hives and itching all over. Scary stuff. Make sure you know the signs!

I've taken them, no problems at all. Maybe I got lucky.

I've been on these tablets for a while and haven't experienced any major side effects. Just some mild stomach discomfort, but it's manageable.

The most helpful advice I got was to take these tablets with food. It can really cut down on the stomach upset.
