I've been prescribed Potassium Chloride 20meq Powder Pkt to manage low potassium levels due to a recent bout of diarrhea. I know it's crucial for my heart, muscles, and nerves, but I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone else taken this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad. How did you manage any side effects? Were there any tips or tricks that made it easier to take? Also, I've read about the rare but serious side effects. How often do these actually occur, and what should I be watching for? Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I always take it during a meal. It seems like that helps with the stomach upset a bit, just make sure to mix it well with food or a drink when taking it.

I was surprised to find that many grocery stores carry the powder in the pharmacy section. It's a lot cheaper and you might be able to skip the pharmacy. I do wish they had a better-tasting version. Maybe they need to develop a flavored version.

I've been on Potassium Chloride for a while now due to my blood pressure medication. I found that mixing it with a bit of lemon juice helps with the taste. As for side effects, I've had some mild stomach upset, but nothing too bad. Just make sure to drink plenty of water with it.

I've had to take this stuff a couple of times due to dehydration from vomiting and diarrhea. I've had an allergic reaction to it in the past and had to switch to an IV drip. It's not fun. Call your doc and get checked if you have any of the more serious symptoms, don't try to power through it.

I had a pretty scary experience with this stuff. I started feeling really weak and dizzy, and my heart was beating irregularly. Turns out my potassium levels were too high. If you experience any of those symptoms, get to a doctor ASAP.

I was prescribed this for low potassium levels due to long-term use of lasix. The powder is gross, but I mix it in chicken broth to make it more tolerable. I've had some mild stomach upset, but nothing too bad. Just make sure to drink plenty of water with it. I always take it with a meal to minimize side effects and it’s not too bad then.
