I've just been prescribed Paclitaxel 150mg/25ml Inj, 25ml for my cancer treatment. I'm really nervous about the side effects, especially the severe ones. I've heard horror stories about allergic reactions and other serious issues. Has anyone else gone through this? I'd love to hear about your experiences, especially any tips on managing side effects or what to expect during and after the infusion. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You got this. Chemo is rough, but it's a fight worth fighting. Don't hesitate to reach out to support groups or online communities for extra encouragement.

I had a severe allergic reaction during my first infusion. My nurse said it was rare but can happen. If you feel any tightness in your chest or throat, tell the nurse immediately. They need to stop the infusion and treat the reaction right away.

Make sure to bring a blanket and warm clothes to your infusion. Your body temp can drop during the treatment. Also, keep your hands and feet covered with socks and gloves to avoid the side effects on your skin.

Don’t forget to ask about the pre-medications they give before the infusion. Those can really help with the side effects. Also, a friend or family member to keep you company (and drive you home… you’ll be tired) helps tremendously.

I went through Paclitaxel treatment a few years ago. The side effects were tough, especially the hair loss and nausea. But my doctor gave me some anti-nausea meds that really helped. Just make sure to communicate openly with your healthcare team about what you're experiencing. They can adjust your treatment plan if needed.
