I was recently prescribed Pradaxa 150mg Caps in a blister pack after being diagnosed with atrial fibrillation. The doctor explained that it would help thin my blood and reduce the risk of blood clots, which could lead to a stroke. I've been on it for a few weeks now, and while I haven't experienced any major issues, I've noticed some stomach discomfort and occasional heartburn. I wanted to start this thread to share my experience, ask about others' side effects, and discuss how everyone manages these issues. I also want to know if anyone has had to deal with more serious side effects and how they handled them. Additionally, I'm curious about any tips for using the blister pack effectively. Let's get the conversation started!

I know some people say it's blasphemy but I've learned to just handle it. I've also had some issues with bleeding more easily, especially when I cut myself. It’s a bit scary, but I try to be extra careful and always have a Band-Aid handy.

I switched from warfarin to Pradaxa, and honestly, the difference is night and day. No more constant monitoring or dietary restrictions. The side effects are manageable, and I feel a lot safer knowing I'm less likely to have a stroke.

This is good to know! I started having stomach pains after taking Pradaxa, but it gets better once I eat something. My doctor didn't mention that to me...

I had some issues with severe headaches and dizziness when I first started on Pradaxa, but it seemed to go away as time went on. I'd recommend talking to your doc. It might be a side effect that goes away over time.

I’ve had a few run-ins with severe side effects, like severe swelling and joint pain. My doctor switched me to a different medication, but it’s good to hear that everyone’s experience is different.

Anyone else had issues with severe headache and dizziness? I'm not sure if it's related to Pradaxa, but it's been happening more frequently since I started taking it.

I was really worried about the side effects when I started taking Pradaxa. My doctor went over all the potential issues, but what really helped was reading stories from other people who have been on it. It’s reassuring to know that while there are risks, many people manage them well. I’ve had a few nosebleeds, but nothing too serious. Just wear a t-shirt that has a lot of pockets and carry tissues when going out. I take it with a glass of water, and I haven't had any major issues so far.

I've had a few nosebleeds. Trying to figure for how long you have to wait to text someone when you start Pradaxa. Does anyone know if it kicks in immediately or if there's a period before it fully starts working?

I've been on Pradaxa for a couple of months now. My biggest concern is dealing with bleeding more easily. I’ve had a few nosebleeds and bruising more easily than normal. I try to be extra careful when shaving or using sharp objects. I've also found that taking it with food helps with any stomach issues. I knew it was a risk, but it’s still a bit unsettling. My doctor said it's normal, but it's good to hear from others who are going through the same thing.

I've been on Pradaxa for over a year now, and while it's done its job, the side effects can be tough. I've had some issues with bleeding more easily, especially when I shave or cut myself. I've also had some stomach issues. My doctor recommended taking it with food to help with the stomach issues, and it seems to help.
