I've been prescribed Pradaxa 150mg for my atrial fibrillation, and it's been a game-changer for preventing blood clots. But with all the warnings about severe bleeding and other side effects, I can't help but feel anxious. Has anyone else experienced any of the urgent side effects listed, like vomiting blood or severe headaches? I’m just wondering how common these serious side effects really are and how to mitigate the risks? I’ve also been keeping an eye out for the less severe ones, like an upset stomach. How do you guys manage the side effects, if at all?

I agree with the OP’s concerns. Pradaxa can be life-saving, but you really need to stay on top of monitoring your health closely while taking it. I got terrible stomach pain when I first started taking it, but it went away after a while. If it gets to be too much you should talk to your doctor about alternatives. Also, be aware of your diet, the blood thinner can cause bruising so cut back on the supplements you are taking. If you have any history of alcoholism, Pradaxa can cause you to have little to no effect.

I’ve been on Pradaxa for a long time now. Just make sure to inform your doctor if you notice any unusual bruising or other bleeding issues, just in case.

I had a really bad experience with Pradaxa. I started having severe joint pain and swelling, and it was so uncomfortable, I had to switch medications. I’d be cautious and talk to your doctor about other options if the side effects are too much to handle. If you notice any symptoms, go to the ER immediately.

I think the side effects are manageable if you’re vigilant and communicate with your doctor. Just make sure to watch for those signs of severe bleeding.

I see the urgent side effects listed, but do we know how common they are? This is really important information for anyone considering this medication.

I switched from Coumadin to Pradaxa and didn't even notice the switch. I think it's a great alternative to warfarin.

Pradaxa saved my life after a pulmonary embolism. Had some minor stomach issues but nothing I couldn't handle. Totally worth it for the peace of mind.
