I've been prescribed Pravastatin 10mg for high cholesterol and I'm trying to learn more about the side effects of the drug. I've read that there are some serious ones to look out for, like allergic reactions and muscle problems. Has anyone had any unusual side effects? What was your experience like? How long did it take for side-effects to subside, if any?

I’ve been on Pravastatin for a year and my cholesterol levels have improved a lot. No side effects here.

I've heard that liver problems can be a serious side effect. Anyone have any info on that? I'm really worried.

I’ve heard some people have trouble going to the bathroom. I have not had that issue, but I do drink a lot of water.

I had a lot of muscle aches when I first started, but it went away after a few weeks. Stick with it, but keep an eye out for persistent issues.!

Seriously, why do these meds have to have so many side effects? I mean, it’s not like lowering cholesterol is a fun thing to do!

I was so worried when I started taking it, but honestly, I've had no issues. I eat healthier now too, so that probably helps.

I had a mild allergic reaction at first—just some itching and a rash. My doctor switched me to a different medication and I have been fine so far.

I had muscle pain for a while, but my doctor said it was okay. I stopped the meds for a few weeks and it got better. I just resumed and so far so good. I just pay attention to any unusual symptoms.

Be really careful with this one. I had a friend who ended up in the hospital with chest pain. Turns out it was a side effect of Pravastatin.
