I was recently prescribed Prazosin 5mg capsules for my high blood pressure. I've been taking them for a few weeks now, and while they seem to be helping with my blood pressure, I've experienced some side effects that have me a bit concerned. I've been feeling very dizzy and sleepy, especially when I stand up suddenly. I've also noticed some headaches and an upset stomach.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences with this medication? I've read about some serious side effects like severe dizziness, fainting, and even priapism, which is scary to think about. I've been careful to follow the instructions, taking the medicine before bed, but I'm still worried.

Has anyone found ways to manage these side effects? I've heard drinking plenty of water and avoiding sudden movements can help, but what about the other side effects?

I'm also curious if anyone has used Prazosin off-label for conditions like an enlarged prostate or PTSD-related nightmares.

Do you take the pill with or without food? That might make a difference for your stomach.

Have you been having to pee all the time? This happened to my dad and it was uncomfortable for him.

I've heard that Prazosin can also help with social anxiety. If you ever want to try it out, you could talk to your doctor about that! Also, make sure to get a good mattress. If you wake up with any sensation of tingling in your legs. That can be super uncomfortable and a doctor may need to adjust your medication.

Prazosin can definitely cause dizziness and fatigue, especially when you first start taking it. Give it some time, and if it doesn't get better, talk to your doctor. Also, make sure you're not driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how it affects you.

What are the other medications you’re taking? Some meds can have negative interactions, so make sure your doctor is aware of everything you take.

My sister has been on Prazosin for a while, and she swears by it. Never had any issues, but everyone's different, right?

My dad was on Prazosin for his enlarged prostate and it seemed to do the trick. I was really worried for him when he first started having some severe side effects, but they went away after a week. Make sure your doctor knows about any other medications and if you have any other conditions.
