I'm 55 and recently started using Premarin Vaginal Cream to deal with menopausal symptoms. It's been a game-changer for the dryness and painful intercourse, but I'm a bit worried about the side effects. Has anyone else had any issues? I'm particularly concerned about the risk of blood clots and breast changes. Has anyone else experienced these or know how to mitigate the risks?

My mom has used Premarin for years with minimal issues. She didn't have severe headaches or vision changes like your mom. Everyone's different, I guess. But if you’re really worried, maybe look into other options that might be as effective. Most of my friends have switched to something different after a few months.

I recently heard a lot of people are switching to bio-identical hormones to avoid some of the synthetic hormones side effects. I think I will try that next. I'm nervous about the allergic reactions and vision problems.

I had to switch to a different estrogen cream because Premarin gave me terrible stomach cramps and bloating. It was a bummer because it really helped with the dryness, but the side effects were too much. I'm about to try Estrace and see whether that works. Hope it helps! If you have questions and concerns, always talk to your doctor and try to work out a solution.

Be careful with it. My mom had some really bad side effects, including severe headaches and some issues with her vision. It's worth discussing these concerns with your doctor and maybe finding a lower dose if possible.

I didn't know this, but Premarin is made from horse urine. Gross!
