Prenatal 27-0.8mg Tablets: My Experience and Concerns
I've been taking Prenatal 27-0.8mg Tablets for a few months now, and I've noticed some side effects that I'm not sure if I should be worried about. I want to prevent birth defects and anemia but I'm experiencing a lot of constipation. Does anyone else have this issue or maybe know about ways to mitigate it? I'm toying with the idea of switching to a different prenatal vitamin. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?
Also, I've seen some scary warnings about severe side effects. I'm pretty freaked out. Should I really be worried about these? How common are they?
Also, please share any tips on how to take these without feeling like I'm dying. I've tried taking them with food and on an empty stomach, and I'm still not feeling great post-meal.

I had really bad heartburn with these. My doctor recommended taking them with a full glass of water and a light snack. It helped a bit.
I had to stop taking these because they made me so sick. I felt like I had the flu or something. Stick with the one that works best for you.
I had a green poop scare after taking this. Turns out, it's just the iron in the tablet. No need to panic unless your stools are black and tarry!
The severe side effects are rare, but it's always good to be aware. If you're really worried, talk to your doctor. They can provide more specific information based on your health history.
I've been taking these for months and haven't had any issues. Maybe it's just your body adjusting to the new vitamins.
I switched to a different prenatal vitamin because of the side effects. I felt so much better afterwards. Might be worth trying a different brand.
I've never heard of anyone having issues with these. maybe it's just you? Is it just a placebo effect?
I take my prenatal vitamins with a big glass of orange juice. It helps with the iron absorption and the taste. Plus I love OJ.
I've read that iron can cause constipation, so it might be the iron in the tablet. Consider talking to your doctor about maybe a lower iron dosage,
I've had the same issue with constipation. I started taking a stool softener and it helped a lot. Just make sure to talk to your doctor first!
