I'm considering getting the Prevnar 13 vaccine for myself and my family, but I've heard mixed reviews about its side effects. The vaccine is supposed to protect against serious infections like pneumonia, meningitis, and bacteremia. According to what I've read, the side effects can range from mild (like headache or muscle pain) to severe (like allergic reactions).

What are your experiences with Prevnar 13? I've heard some stories and would like to hear the truth. Is it worth the risk? I'm particularly interested in whether it's safe for children. This part of the process is more daunting. How does it affect the little ones? Would love to hear your thoughts, especially from those who've had it both as an adult, and administered it to younger kids.

I had Prevnar 13 as a kid, and I don’t remember any issues. I do remember my parents being super cautious. Was worth it, clearly. Don’t take any chances with pneumonia.

I recently learned that you can report side effects to the FDA/CDC Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). It's good to know there's a system in place to monitor these things. Maybe we should all report our experiences there.

For those who are worried about the side effects this vaccine side effects Severe allergic reactions are rare, but it’s always better to be prepared. Talk to your doctor about any concerns you have.

Got Prevnar 13 a few weeks ago and my arm was so sore I could barely move it for a day or two, but it was totally worth it to protect against pneumonia. Definitely doable.

I got Prevnar 13 for my kids, and they had no serious side effects. A little irritability and drowsiness, but nothing major. Definitely worth it for the protection it offers.

I had a mild fever and some muscle pain after getting it, but it was manageable. The doctor said these are common side effects and should go away within a few days.

My sister-in-law had to get this vaccine for a job. She swore it made her head spin. I was there, and she seemed fine, but she's so dramatic. Don't think it was the vaccine.
