Proamatine 5mg Tablets (Midodrine) is a prescription medication used to treat orthostatic hypotension, a condition where blood pressure drops significantly upon standing, leading to dizziness or fainting. This medication works by constricting blood vessels, thereby increasing blood pressure. While it can be effective, it's crucial to be aware of its potential side effects. Urgent side effects, such as signs of an allergic reaction, severe headaches, or neurological symptoms, require immediate medical attention. Other possible side effects, although less severe, should still be monitored and discussed with a healthcare provider. I've been on Proamatine for a few weeks now, and while it's helped with my dizziness, I've experienced some tingling and chills. Has anyone else had similar experiences? How did you manage them?

Anyone tried any alternative treatments for orthostatic hypotension? I'm hesitant to continue with Proamatine.

I had a strange burning sensation in my feet. Doctor said it was a side effect and to stop taking the med.

I've been on Proamatine for a year now and haven't had any major issues. Just a bit of scalp tingling sometimes, but nothing unbearable. It's been a lifesaver for my orthostatic hypotension.

I was diagnosed with orthostatic hypertension and was prescribed Proamatine. It helps with dizziness, but I have frequent urination. Does anyone know if this side effect goes away with time?

I had no idea this med could cause such severe side effects. I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing them, but it's a bit scary.

I had goosebumps and chills for the first week, but they went away. I think it's just your body adjusting to the medication. Stick it out for a bit and see if it gets better.

Seemed like a good idea to get rid of light-headedness but not when it comes with such severe side effects.

I switched to a lower dose and it helped with the side effects. Maybe talk to your doctor about adjusting your dosage?

Be careful with this med. My mom had to stop taking it because of severe headaches. She ended up in the ER. It's not worth risking your health.
