Probenecid 500mg Tablets: My Experience and Some Scary Side Effects
I've been taking Probenecid 500mg Tablets for my gout and it's been a real rollercoaster. On one hand, it's helped manage my uric acid levels, but on the other, I've experienced some side effects that have me a bit worried. I've read about some pretty serious side effects like kidney and liver issues, and even allergic reactions. Has anyone else had similar experiences? I'm curious to know how others are managing these side effects and if there are any tips or tricks to make the process smoother. I've also heard it can help with certain antibiotics—has anyone used it for that purpose?

I've been on Probenecid for a few months and honestly, the side effects have been manageable. I get a bit of dizziness and occasional flushing, but nothing too bad. Just make sure to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated!
I've had hives and itching, which was really uncomfortable. My doctor prescribed an antihistamine, and it helped a lot. Just make sure to report any allergic reactions to your doctor right away.
I've been on Probenecid for a year now, and it's been great for my gout. No major side effects so far, just a bit of a headache sometimes. Fingers crossed it stays this way! I just drink a ton of water.
I had an allergic reaction during my first dose and it was scary. I developed a rash and had a hard time breathing. I took benadryl and it got better but it took a few hours. I went to the hospital just in case. I wish i had had an epi pen prepared for this sort of thing.
