I've been prescribed Procardia XL (os) 60mg tablets for my high blood pressure and angina. I'm curious to hear from others who have experience with this medication. I've been on it for a while and only noticed the flushing and sometimes feeling a bit weak. My doc said to take it at night because it can make you sleepy. No big deal for me, though!
Procardia XL is really helped with my hypertension but it was a tough start. The dizziness was intense for the first week – I had to be super careful going up stairs. But after that it’s been smooth sailing. My blood pressure is under control and no more chest pain.
I had to stop taking because of severe chest pain. Turns out it was a bit of a panic attack. It was scary but everything is okay. Maybe it was all in my head? I will ask my doctor for another medication.
I love how the extended-release works. I only have to take it once a day and it keeps me going without annoying me with multiple doses.
I had the exact opposite experience. My doctor switched me from Procardia XL to something else after I experienced some weird symptoms. Maybe it was all in my head.
Did anyone experience black, tarry stools? I'm not sure if that's from the Procardia or something else.
I didn't notice the tablet shell in my stool. Is this even a thing?
I've had some serious side effects. I got severe constipation and muscle pain. I had to go to the ER once. I'm not sure if I should continue with it. I'll talk to my doctor about switching meds.
I was worried about the side effects too, but my doctor said they're rare. I think the benefits of stabilizing my blood pressure outweigh the risks. I'm much less anxious about it now. Just be sure to stay in touch with your doctor and report anything unusual.
