I've been prescribed Prozac 20mg for my OCD and have been taking it for about a month now. I've noticed some improvements, but I'm also experiencing vivid dreams and fatigue. Has anyone else had these side effects? Are they temporary? Also, I've read about some serious side effects. How common are these? My doctor mentioned they're rare, but I want to be prepared. I've been on Prozac for a couple of years now and those side effects, at first, but they fade after a couple of months. Stick with it. It's made a huge difference for me.
I actually feel more anxious after starting Prozac but I'm an exception. I don't think these mood regulating drugs work for everyone. But best of luck to you. I hope it works out.
Serious side effects are indeed rare, but it's always good to be aware and talk to your doctor about anything that concerns you. Prozac is a powerful tool and probably the most effective drug available for OCD.
My doctor said that if you experience any severe side effects, it's crucial to get to the ER right away. Don't wait to see if it gets better. Seizures, abnormal heartbeat, hallucinations, all need to be addressed immediately.
