I've been prescribed Quinapril/HCTZ 20-25mg tablets for my high blood pressure, but I'm a bit worried about the side effects. Has anyone else taken this medication? What was your experience like? I'm particularly concerned about the more serious side effects like allergic reactions and kidney problems. Any advice on how to manage these risks?

I know some people who said they experienced severe stomach pain, but it turned out to be a sign of liver problems. Keep an eye on that too.

I noticed some increased thirst and frequent urination at first, which is normal with diuretics. My doctor advised me to monitor my blood sugar levels to ensure there are no hidden problems

I've been on this combo for a few months and haven't had any major issues. Just a bit of dizziness at first, but it went away after a while.

Vision changes can be a rare but serious side effect. Definitely call your doctor about that ASAP. I had a friend who had a reaction to the drug. He was in the hospital for observation and they stopped the drugs.

Wait, what? I'm glad I didn't have the same reaction as you. Although the kidney problems are a concern, it is important to regularly monitor your urine output and to drink a lot of water.

I just started taking these and I'm experiencing some dizziness. Should I be worried, or is this normal?

I had a bit of a mild cough initially, but it stopped after a couple of weeks. My doc said it's a common side effect but nothing to worry about. Add a KITCHEN GARDEN. Lol! Just be sure to stay hydrated and keep an eye on your electrolytes.

Be careful with this one, folks. I had a freak reaction to the HCTZ part, my skin got all blotchy and I had to stop taking it. This is why it's important to watch the skin changes for cancer.

Has anyone else had issues with vision changes? I've started noticing some strange blurriness and I'm not sure if it's related to the meds. Those eye problems sound scary.

If you're feeling dizzy, make sure to stay hydrated and avoid sudden changes in posture. Give it a few days, but if it persists, call your doctor. I have never noticed any eye problems but the liver symptoms are interesting to note.
