Hey everyone, I was recently prescribed Rectiv 0.4% Ointment for an anal fissure and I’m wondering if anyone else has experience using this. The doctor said it works by relaxing the muscles and improving blood flow to the area, which helps with healing and pain reduction. Can anyone share their experiences, either good or bad, and should I be particularly concerned about the possible side effects? Any tips on how to apply it, or any other ointments or treatments you’ve tried? Thanks in advance!

This stuff is a lifesaver. I was in so much pain before, and Rectiv really helped. Just be careful with the application—follow the instructions and you’ll be fine. I also found that some over-the-counter pain relievers helped manage the initial discomfort.

My advice: use it consistently and as prescribed. I tried skipping a few applications at first and it slowed down the healing. Stick with it and you’ll see improvements. I also found that keeping the area clean and using warm baths helped a lot.

I used Rectiv for about a month and it worked wonders for me. The healing process was gradual, but I noticed a significant reduction in pain and discomfort after the first week. I never experienced any side effects, but I did make sure to apply it as recommended by my doctor, always gently.

Not gonna lie, I was really nervous to try it after reading about the side effects, but my doctor reassured me they are rare. I got lucky and it helped me a lot, but I did feel a bit of dizziness in the beginning. It went away after a couple of days though.

I've heard some people find it a bit pricey, but it's worth it if it does the job. Just wish it came in different sizes. Anyways, good luck and I hope you start feeling better soon!
