I recently started taking Remeron 30mg Soltabs for depression. The orally disintegrating tablets are convenient, but I've experienced some side effects. Has anyone else had trouble with weight gain or vivid dreams? I'm trying to figure out if these are normal or if I should talk to my doctor. I've also heard about the risks of serotonin syndrome and other severe reactions, which is a bit scary. How do you all manage the potential side effects and stay positive while on this medication?

I've been on Remeron for a year now and I've had none of the crazy side effects. Just a little bit of drowsiness. But I do have the increased appetite and weight gain! I am still fighting with it - I kind of gave up on workouts! I just try to manage it with a balanced diet.

Remeron gave me the worst mouth sores. I couldn't eat or drink anything without hurting. I think it was worth it, but it wasn't easy. But I did get better and I am not going back to the old days. It was worth the journey.

I feel you on the vivid dreams. I woke up the other night thinking I was in a zombie apocalypse! But honestly, Remeron has helped me more than any other med I've tried. It's worth a little weird dreaming.

I've been on Remeron for a while and the weight gain was brutal at first. But I started a new workout routine and it's helped a bit. Also, try not to eat late at night - it can help with the increased appetite. You'll be okay, just keep communicating with your doctor.

My psychiatrist explained that the side effects are usually worse in the beginning and tend to fade over time. I found this to be true. I'm not saying I don't have side effects, but they are only a small price I pay to be normal again. I was really depressed for a long time and I am starting to feel like myself again, it is worth every bit of it. The improved quality of life is worth the struggle of the side effects. It is scary stuff but it is worth it.

Remeron has been a lifesaver for me, but the first few weeks were tough. I had dizziness and fatigue, but it went away after a while. And while the weight gain was frustrating, it was worth it to finally feel like myself again. Stick with it, and remember that everyone's experience is different.

I was really scared of serotonin syndrome at first, but my doctor assured me that it's rare if you're not taking other medications that affect serotonin levels. Still, it's important to be aware of the signs. I keep a list by my bed just in case.

I switched to Remeron from another antidepressant and it's been a game-changer. The oral tablets are so easy to take. I just pop it in my mouth and it's gone. I do get a bit drowsy, so I take it at night. But it helps me sleep, which is a plus!

Has anyone else had issues with low sodium levels? I've been feeling a bit off and I'm wondering if that could be the cause.

I've had really vivid dreams too! Sometimes I wake up and feel like I'm living in a different reality. It's kind of fun, but also confusing. I've heard that if you take it a few hours before bed instead of right before, it helps with the dream issue.
