I've recently started taking Repaglinide 0.5mg Tablets for my type 2 diabetes. The doctor said it would help control my blood sugar by stimulating insulin release after meals but I’ve been a bit nervous about the possible side effects. Has anyone else tried this medication? How effective has it been for you? And, if you've experienced side effects, how bad were they and how did you manage them? This medication is new and my doctor assures me it's fairly effective but I'd love to hear from more people who have tried it.

I've been on Repaglinide for about six months now, and it's been a game-changer. My blood sugar levels have been much more stable, and I haven't experienced any major side effects. I did have a bit of a headache the first week, but it went away quickly. I follow my doctor's guidance and take Fastacting carbs when I feel low, so the low blood sugar thing isn't an issue. Also, I make sure to eat at regular times, I think that helps a lot.

Be careful with this stuff. I had a friend who started taking Repaglinide and ended up in the hospital with really low blood sugar. She didn't realize how strong it was and wasn't eating enough. She's fine now, but it was a close call.

This reminds me of a time I got the flu and had a fever while on repaglinide. My blood sugar got completely out of control and I had to go to the hospital. I feel like the medication could be dangerous if you get really sick or injured. I'm going to talk to my doc about switching meds.

Thanks for sharing. I was feeling pretty worried but everyone's experiences are a bit different. I'll just have to try it and see how it goes for me.

I take 0.5mg after every meal. I have to make sure to eat plenty of protein with each meal, otherwise, it can drop my blood sugar too low. Other than that, it's been manageable.

I switched to repaglinide from metformin because I couldn't tolerate the side effects. I've had some good results so far, but I did have a severe allergic reaction the first time I took it. My face kept swelling up and I was having a hard time breathing. It was scary. Went to the ER and they said it was definitely an allergic reaction. Never took it again. I'd advise anyone to be cautious and have an epinephrine pen on hand just in case.
