I've recently been prescribed Risperdal Consta 25mg Kit for my bipolar I disorder. It's a long-acting injection given every two weeks, which I'm hoping will help manage my symptoms more effectively than my current medication. I've heard it can balance certain natural chemicals in the brain and ensure consistent medication levels, but I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. I want to get a sense of what others have experienced—both positive and negative. If you've used Risperdal Consta, how has it worked for you and what side effects have you noticed? Have you had any serious or life-threatening reactions? What tips can you share for managing the injections or side effects such as weight gain, dizziness, or anxiety?

I had to stop Risperdal Consta because of the hormonal changes. I was lucky, it didn't get too bad. I recommend just paying close attention to your body. If you start noticing anything odd, contact your doctor right away. It's not worth it to wait.

I've been on it for six months. First injection was rough, but it got easier. The biggest issue for me was the dizziness, but it went away after a couple of months. I've had no serious side effects, but I do get the occasional headache. Compared to the pills I was taking, this has been a lot easier to manage, most of the time.

I had a terrible reaction to Risperdal Consta. I developed uncontrollable body movements, my tongue started sticking out and twitching, it was a nightmare of symptoms. I had to switch to another medication, but be cautious with this one.

I found the weight gain to be the most challenging part. I was already managing a bit of weight gain from other medications, and this just made it worse. I'm curious if anyone else has found a good way to lose it or if anyone has found a similar medication without weight gain as a side effect.
