I was prescribed Risperidone 4mg ODT Tablets and I want to understand the side effects. Are the urgent side effects really that rare? Can someone share their experience? Also, what should I expect in terms of common side effects?

Be careful with the neuroleptic malignant syndrome symptoms. My friend had a friend who ended up hospitalized because he ignored those signs.

I've been on Risperidone for a few months now, and honestly, the common side effects aren't too bad. Weight gain is a concern, but I've managed it with a healthier diet. Dizziness is annoying, but nothing compared to the relief it has given from anxiety.

My mom has to watch out for the hormonal changes. She's on a pretty high dose too, so she's just got to be extra careful. Always check with your doc before starting anything new.

I had a bit of shakiness and dizziness when I started taking these. It freaked me out, but my doctor said it's common. Just monitor your symptoms closely and keep in touch with your healthcare provider.

I had a hard time with the dry mouth. I might not have known it was a side effect if not for this thread.

Urgent side effects are rare, but they can happen. I was prescribed Risperidone 4mg ODT Tablets and the first few weeks were rough, but nothing urgent. Just make sure you're aware of the symptoms and lean on the side of caution if something feels really off.

Shortness of breath and drooling? That's just the worst. I remember when my grandma had those side effects from another medication. Good luck on that!

This is scary. The side effects for Risperidone are pretty serious, but I guess they have to be because it treats something serious.

I was so surprised by how much I gained weight. I thought the Risperidone was fine, but then I took a look at myself in the mirror, and I was like, 'whoa!' Didn't realize how bad it would be.
