Has anyone been prescribed Risperidone ODT 3mg Tablets? I've been taking them for a couple of weeks now and am curious about the experiences and side effects of others. The ODT form is quite handy because it dissolves quickly in your mouth, but I've been experiencing some dizziness. Are these side effects common? How long do they usually last? The side effects list is quite long, but I assume many of them are rare. I'd love to hear from anyone who's been on this medication for a while or has more insight into managing the side effects.

Have you tried combining it with any other medications or therapies? I've heard that sometimes a combination approach can help mitigate side effects.

So this medication is life changing but the weight gain seems to be the biggest issue for anyone.

I had some serious problems with this medication. I got the neuroleptic malignant syndrome symptoms. The muscle stiffness and confusion was awful. Thankfully I got to the hospital in time and they switched my medication immediately. Be careful and be honest with your doctor if you start to feel any of that stuff.

I have been on Risperidone for about 6 months the side effects are not as bad as I was worrying they would be. I did experience some dizziness at first but it went away after a few weeks. I did get that weird tongue thing at one point, but it went away too. I still have problems focusing on tasks, but I don't think that's the medication

I tried it once and switched to something else. It was too much for me. The side effects were just so bad. I get it seems to work well for some people, but I got off lucky with not getting the worst ones. I hope it works out for you.

I’ve been on Risperidone for a couple of years now, and while the side effects were tough at first, they’ve mostly subsided. The key is to stay in close contact with your doctor and make adjustments as needed. Also, don’t underestimate the power of a good support system—whether it’s family, friends, or a therapist.

I've been on it for a few months and have had some pretty bad dry mouth. anyone have tips to deal with that?

I've been on it for a year now, and the only real side effect I’ve noticed is some minor weight gain and sleepiness. I think it's definitely helped with my mood stability, though. Just make sure to keep an eye on any unusual symptoms and talk to your doctor regularly.
