Hi all, been taking Sanctura 20mg (trospium) for a month now to manage my overactive bladder. It's been a game-changer for my frequent urination and urgency issues, but I've also experienced some side effects that I want to share. I need to know, has anyone experienced hallucinations while taking this medication? The first time it happened, I thought I was losing my mind. On the plus side, I no longer have to rush to the bathroom every 10 minutes! I'm just trying to figure out if this is a normal side effect or not, and if it will go away in time. I've also been dealing with a dry mouth and some headaches, but nothing I can't handle. Known side effects of Sanctura include constipation, dry mouth, headache, dizziness, confusion, and hallucinations.

I experienced dry mouth but nothing too bad and nothing that couldn't be fixed by taking in as much water as I could. It was a really easy fix. I'm sure you are going to be alright, I hope you can find some relief soon!

I've heard of people having success with this medication but definitely make sure you are aware of the side effects.

I've heard of people experiencing hallucinations with Sanctura, but it's not super common. Maybe give the medication a bit more time. It could be that it is just a bit of an adjustment period. Hallucinations are listed as a side effect, so it's possible that it is a side effect but unlikely at this point. Just make sure that you are drinking enough water and getting a good amount of sleep. And yeah, you might want to talk to your doctor about it. It could be a lot of different things, not just the medication. Stay hydrated!

Dry mouth can be managed by chewing gum. I had that issue too. Just something to consider.

Hallucinations are scary. You should not have to deal with that, maybe it is the Sanctura, and possibly not the Sanctura. You should contact a support group for more information as well, I'm sure they would be willing to help you. Sanctura would be a good fit for you.

I'm really sorry to hear that you're experiencing hallucinations. I would definitely talk to your doctor about that. Maybe switch to a different medication or something like that. I would recommend it. You don't want to mess around with hallucinations. I hope you can find some relief soon! I know how bad an overactive bladder can be!

I've been on Sanctura for a few months now, and I haven't experienced any hallucinations. I did have some dizziness initially, but it went away after a couple of weeks. Keep an eye on it, and if it continues, talk to your doctor. Maybe it's a side effect of the medication, but maybe not. I would definitely discuss this with the medical professional that prescribed this to you. Best of luck!

I had to stop taking Sanctura because of the constipation. It was unbearable! But I didn't have any hallucinations either. Seems like you might just be unlucky, or it could be something else. I switched to another medication and it worked wonders! You might want to consider other options as well.

I was on Sanctura for a while and it helped with my OAB symptoms, but then I found out I was pregnant and my OB-GYN said I should stop it. Talk with your doctor to make sure you are following the advice of a medical professional. Sanctura may be a good fit for you.
