I've been taking Saphris 5mg sublingual tablets for a couple of weeks now to manage my bipolar disorder. The medication seems to be helping, but I've been experiencing some unusual side effects that I can't quite figure out. I've read about the common side effects like dizziness and drowsiness, but I'm dealing with some weird changes in taste and frequent mouth sores. I'm not sure if this is normal or if I should be concerned. Has anyone else had similar experiences? Are these common or should I talk to my doctor about switching medications?

Saphris can be a game-changer, but it sucks dealing with all the side effects. Hang in there, and don't hesitate to reach out to your doctor if things get worse.

I’ve actually had a good experience with Saphris. I did have some dizziness at first, but it went away after a few days. As for the mouth sores, it might be worth checking if anything else could be causing them. Do you use any other sublingual meds?

I had to stop taking Saphris because of the severe constipation. It was awful. I switched to Latuda and it's been much better. Just make sure to communicate with your doctor about how you're feeling.

Yeah, I had similar side effects. The weight gain was the worst for me. Had to change my diet completely. But the mood stabilization was worth it. Good luck with your meds!

Side effects suck, but it's really important to stick with your meds. Have you tried different brands or dosages? Sometimes that can make a big difference.

I was on Saphris for a while and the changes in taste were the worst. It made everything taste metallic, which was really tough to deal with. My doctor switched me to a different med and it went away. Maybe talk to your doctor about that?

I've had some weird side effects too, but nothing like mouth sores. If it's really bad you should talk to your doctor and they should be able to tell if it's something to be worried about.

Ugh, I feel you on the taste changes. I had to start using a different toothpaste because everything tasted like soap. Didn’t realise it could affect taste so much!
