Sapropterin 100mg: My Experience Managing PKU and BH4 Deficiency
I've been on Sapropterin 100mg for a few months now to manage my PKU and BH4 deficiency. It's been a game-changer in terms of allowing me to have a less strict diet. However, I've had a few side effects that I'm trying to navigate. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? What did you do to manage them?

I experienced some fainting spells when I first started, it was a bit scary and my doctor told me that it was a rare side effect. After adjusting the dosage and adding some supplements, it became manageable. People's bodies react differently to medications, so it's important to monitor and adjust as needed.
I had a bad reaction to Sapropterin. I got hives and swelling in my throat. Scary stuff. I had to stop taking it immediately.
I wish they had warned me more clearly about the allergic reactions.
I've been on it for a year and haven't had any issues. I don't think I've even experienced any side effects. I'm looking forward to resuming a regular diet again.
I've heard some people have a hard time with Sapropterin but I'm glad I've been able to manage. I have to watch my sodium intake and drink plenty of water, but the benefits have been great. I can't believe how much more freedom I have with my diet. I love being able to eat out with friends again. If anyone has trouble with side effects, make sure to talk to your doctor and see if there are other ways to manage the condition.
I had to stop taking Sapropterin because of the side effects. I had frequent urination and feeling agitated, it was just too much to deal with at the same time. I wish there was more of a warning about this.
I've been on Sapropterin for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer. I used to have to follow a very strict diet, but now I can eat a lot more variety. I did experience some stomach issues at first, but my doctor adjusted my dosage and it cleared up. Just make sure to communicate with your doctor. Good luck to anyone else dealing with this!
I have not had any side effects. It's been great so far.
I experienced a lot of joint pain when I first started taking Sapropterin. It was pretty uncomfortable, but it went away after a few weeks. My doctor said it was a common side effect. Just hang in there, and it should pass. I'm glad I stuck with it because managing my PKU has been so much easier. I had to keep a food diary at first, which was a pain, but it helped my doctor get my dosage right. I can actually eat pizza again! Well, in moderation.
I've been on Sapropterin for a while and it's made a big difference. I haven't had any major side effects, but I did have some stomach issues at the start. Talk to your doctor about adjusting your diet or dosage. It might help!
