Secuado is a transdermal patch used to treat bipolar I disorder. My neurologist prescribed it to stabilize my moods. For the most part, it has been effective. My extreme mood swings have decreased, and I feel more in control. However, I have experienced some side effects. I've been dealing with drowsiness and upset stomach. Would anyone else like to share their side effects? Also, does anyone know if these usually diminish with time? I've also been wondering if anyone has some tips on how to manage the side effects. I read about some pretty severe side effects, and I'm a bit worried. Thanks for any info!

I've been using Secuado for about 6 months now. It's definitely helped stabilize my mood, but I've had trouble with weight gains and dizziness as well. Would be great if anyone has tips to avoid this. I've been trying to talk to my doc about the side effects. Probably need to get a second opinion.

I experienced some dizziness and restlessness at the beginning, but it went away after a few weeks. I've been on Secuado for 3 months now and I feel a lot more stable. I would definitely recommend it.

I think people need to be aware of the possible side effects. It's not a joke, life-threatening stuff.

What's the worst that could happen? I'm considering trying Secuado for my bipolar disorder, but I think I'd pass out if I had any really severe side effects.

For me, a weight gain of 40 pounds has been brutal. Food and water intake are the same, exercise is the same, so I'm just going to chalk it up to the side effects. I hope the patch helps you but beware of that side effect.
