Hey everyone, I've been put on Selenious AC 12mcg/2m Inj, 2ml for a few weeks now, and I'm looking for some insights. This is a selenium injection that I'm receiving through TPN (total parenteral nutrition) because I can't get enough through my diet. I'm wondering if anyone else has been on this or knows someone who has. I've heard it can cause some serious side effects, so I'm kinda nervous. Just looking to see if anyone has had similar experiences and if so, what their experience was like. Let's discuss!

Has anyone else noticed vein irritation? I’ve heard that’s a common side effect and it can be pretty uncomfortable.

I've been on similar supplements for a few years. It’s definitely a balancing act, but if you've been on TPN long-term, you might already be used to the routine. Just make sure you’re checked regularly for any signs of deficiency or excess. Selenium can be tricky.

I had a friend who was on a selenium supplement because of a dietary deficiency. She had to go through a series of blood tests before starting, and they monitored her very closely. It's definitely important to keep an eye out for those serious side effects, but hopefully, you won't experience any. Just be cautious and always report any changes to your medical team.

I’ve been on TPN for a while and know that sometimes you need these supplements. It's supposed to be rare, but you should still be vigilant for any signs of allergic reaction. Always good to be proactive in discussing potential side effects with your doctor, though. Hope you get better soon!

Just curious, what prompted your need for TPN? It's amazing how many people underestimate the importance of trace minerals. Always a good idea to stay in constant contact with your healthcare team.

If your body doesn't tolerate this well, a lot of people switch to oral supplements. While they might not be as targeted as an injection, they can be a good alternative.

This reminds me of a time I had to deal with some pretty bad skin issues. You would not believe how much it itched. Definitely not a fun experience. Keep your eye on those needle sites!
