I've been struggling with dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis for years, and my dermatologist recommended Selenium Sulfide 2.25% Shampoo. It's supposed to reduce flaking, itching, and irritation, but I'm a bit nervous about the side effects. Has anyone else tried this? What was your experience like? I'm particularly concerned about the urgent side effects listed. I've read that it can cause severe allergic reactions, redness, and irritation at the application site. I want to be prepared if something goes wrong. Additionally, I've heard it can change hair color and cause hair loss. I'm willing to deal with some discomfort if it means getting rid of my dandruff, but I don't want to end up with a different set of problems. What should I expect, and are there any tips for minimizing the side effects?

This stuff saved my life. I had a severe case of seborrheic dermatitis and nothing seemed to work. My dermatologist prescribed this, and after a few weeks, my scalp was almost clear. Just be careful with how often you use it; my dermatologist said not to use it more than twice a week.

Has anyone tried any other shampoos for seborrheic dermatitis? This sounds a bit too intense for me.

I've been using this for six months now. My hair color changed a bit when I started, but it's fine now. I'm just glad to get relief from dandruff. I do get the burning sensation, though.

I used this shampoo for a few weeks to treat dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis. It definitely helped with the flaking and itching, but I noticed some hair loss. It wasn't too bad, and my hair grew back after I stopped using it. The burning sensation was annoying, but it didn't last very long.

I think I'll skip this one. Just the thought of the burning and possible allergic reactions is enough to scare me off. I'll stick to gentler remedies.

I got really bad redness and itching after using this shampoo. It hurt like hell! I stopped using it and the symptoms went away after a few days. I'm definitely not using it again. I'd rather deal with dandruff than the pain.

I used this once and got a rash like never before. I had to go to the ER. I'm just sensitive to this stuff. Not worth it for me.
