I've used Ortho Evra for years. I've had no major side effects, but I do get some irritation where the patch is applied. I've found that switching up the location every week helps a lot. Plus, no more remembering to take a pill every day is a huge plus for me.
I don’t know why all the hate on the patch. I actually loved it. I had trouble fitting the pill routine into my schedule. I had some pain but manageable. I feel like people forget that everyone's different. It was perfect for me.
I've had some serious mood swings since starting Ortho Evra. I'm not sure if it's worth it. Has anyone else dealt with this? I’m considering switching back to the pill.
I had some scary symptoms & I think they could have been related to the patch. I started feeling really weak and had trouble breathing. I ended up in the ER, and they found I had high blood pressure and swelling all over. I told my doctor, and she switched me to a different birth control method. So close and scarier than I thought, I would have died.
I'm on my second month with Ortho Evra, and I've had no issues so far. I had some mild cramps but nothing too bad. I'm hopeful that it will stay this way. I guess we'll see.
I switched from the pill to the patch and regeretted it immediately. The side effects were too much for me to handle. I experienced severe headaches and nausea. Also, the patch falling off in the shower was not fun. I went back to the pill.
