Dare to brave shaving. The dryness and risk of ingrown hairs is not fun.
I developed really bad depression and had to stop. My doctor said it was a rare side effect but be aware of this.
Be prepared for the monthly blood tests and pregnancy tests. It's a hassle, but it's mandatory to monitor your liver function and ensure the medication is safe for you. I got mine done at a local lab, and it was pretty straightforward.
Be prepared for the dryness, especially in the winter months. My lips were really cranky, I used a whole bunch of chap-stick. Make sure to stay hydrated and use plenty of moisturizer. My dermatologist also recommended using a gentle, fragrance-free soap to avoid further irritation.
It's important to remember that everyone's experience with Isotretinoin can be different. I had some really bad mood swings and joint pain, but my acne was completely gone by the end of the treatment. It was worth it for me, but I definitely needed support from my friends and family.
I used to wake up with a forest of acne on my face but this stuff is amazing. I have some scars and a few blemishes but nothing like before.
