I've been prescribed Potassium Citrate Citric Acid Solution to prevent kidney stones. I've heard it can make your urine less acidic and increase citrate, but I'm curious about everyone's experiences with this medication. How has it worked for you? Have you encountered any side effects, and if so, how did you manage them? Also, what are some tips for making this treatment as effective as possible? Looking forward to hearing from others who have gone through this.

I’ve been on this for a year and haven’t had any major issues. Just some minor stomach upset, but it goes away quickly. Definitely worth it to avoid another painful stone.

I wish I'd known about this sooner. I've had two surgeries for kidney stones and this could have saved me a lot of trouble. Just make sure to monitor your potassium levels; mine got a bit high at first but my doctor adjusted the dose and it's been fine since.

I've been on this for a few months and it's been a game-changer. I had recurrent kidney stones, mostly calcium oxalate, and this has really helped reduce the frequency. But I did experience some stomach upset at first. My doctor recommended taking it with food, and that seemed to help a lot. Also, staying super hydrated has been key.

High potassium levels are no joke. I had some weird symptoms like dizziness and tingling. I had to stop taking it for a week while my doctor figured it out. But it’s been fine since we adjusted the dosage.

I had a friend who had a really tough time with this. Just be prepared for some trial and error with the dosage and lifestyle changes. It's worth it in the long run, though!

People talk about the taste like it’s the worst thing ever, but it’s not that bad if you mix it with juice or something. Just don’t forget to check with your doctor if you have any issues.

I agree, hydration is crucial. I drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and it's made a big difference. Also, cutting down on salt and high-oxalate foods has helped a bunch.
