Elzonris (tagetreotide) is a medication used to treat blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN), a rare and aggressive type of blood cancer. Given as an injection, Elzonris targets and kills cancer cells, offering hope to patients with limited treatment options. However, like any powerful medicine, Elzonris comes with potential side effects that patients and caregivers should be aware of. This thread is for sharing experiences, asking questions, and providing support to anyone affected by BPDCN and considering or undergoing treatment with Elzonris.

I've been on Elzonris for a few months now. The side effects were tough at first, but my doctor helped manage them with other medications. Stick with it, and keep communicating with your healthcare team.

Elzonris is definitely not a walk in the park, but it's been effective for me, and the side effects have been manageable. Just make sure to stay in close contact with your healthcare team and report any issues right away.

Elzonris saved my life. I was in a lot of pain before, and it's completely gone now. Definitely talk to your doctor about it if you're considering it. My oncologist made the process so much easier for me, and I can't imagine life without it now.

Just started Elzonris after being diagnosed with BPDCN. Any advice from those who have been through this? Specifically, how did you handle the side effects?

My wife is on Elzonris, and the mood swings have been challenging. Any tips for caring for someone going through this? I feel so helpless sometimes.

I'm a nurse, and I've seen patients with BPDCN respond incredibly well to Elzonris. It's not a cure, but it can buy precious time and improve quality of life. If you're considering it, make sure to discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. As a health care provider, I want to tell patients their lives are worth every side effect and every struggle we can manage.

Elzonris has some crazy side effects. I had mouth sores that were so painful. Make sure to rinse your mouth and avoid spicy and salty food.

My partner was just diagnosed with BPDCN. What should I expect from Elzonris treatment? We're feeling overwhelmed and could use some guidance.
