Hello, everyone. I've recently started taking Gemcitabine as part of my treatment plan for pancreatic cancer. I'm looking for others who have experience with this drug. I want to know what side effects to expect, how to manage them, and any tips for coping. Does anyone have insights or advice to share, or know of any resources to help me get through this journey? I'd really appreciate hearing from you all. Thanks in advance.

The liver problems really scare me. I know it's rare, but I can't stop thinking about it. Keep your eyes peeled for any changes in your urine or unusual fatigue, and report them ASAP. Better safe than sorry. Keep us all updated!

Have any of you experienced severe mouth sores? I've been dealing with them for the last couple of weeks, and it's been miserable.

I've heard that some people experience flu-like symptoms. Is that true? I haven't had any yet, but I'm wondering if that might be coming. Should I call my doctor to talk to them about it?

I just can't believe how harsh the nausea was on this stuff. I spent most of my first few weeks hooked up to an IV for hydration.

I don't know why this drug has so many severe side effects. I think it's scary to even consider taking it. But I know it helps too. It's such a tough balance.

Gemcitabine is a strong drug, and it can be tough on the body. Make sure you're in close contact with your medical team and report any severe side effects immediately. They can help you manage symptoms and adjust your treatment if needed.
