I've recently started taking Sunitinib 12.5mg Capsules for my GIST and have been noticing some pretty intense side effects. I'm wondering if anyone else has gone through this treatment and can share their experiences. Specifically, I've been dealing with fatigue, dry skin, and a lot of hair loss. I've also been feeling a bit down and have some mild depression. I want to know if these side effects are common and if there's anything I can do to manage them. How do you cope with these side effects? Any tips for managing these side effects would be greatly appreciated. Also, what sort of things do you avoid while taking Sunitinib? Besides the side effects, are there any other things to be aware of during treatment?

Wow, I'm really sorry to hear that you're dealing with this. The depression can be tough, but it sounds like some of the other symptoms are pretty common. Hang in there!

I've been on this drug for a few years now, and while it's tough, it's worth it. My GIST was a mess, and it's finally under control. I've always had a dry mouth with it, but I've got it under control now. I recommend drinking a lot of water to help with the dry mouth and using a humidifier at night. I found that eating small, frequent meals helped with the nausea.

You mentioned feeling down and dealing with depression. That's really important to address. I had therapy and found that exercise helped a lot too. Also, try to avoid things that can make side effects worse, like excessive alcohol.
