I've recently been prescribed Tiopronin 100mg DR Tablets to manage my cystinuria. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? How effective have you found it in preventing kidney stones and managing symptoms? I'm curious about the side effects you've encountered and any tips for managing them. Also, if it's not too personal, what's the long-term management like for cystinuria with this medication.?

I thought I was the only one with erectile dysfunction as a side effect. I haven't told my Urologist yet because I'm hoping it goes away. Anyone else facing this? It's been really tough.

I've had some joint pain, but it's manageable. I've found that gentle exercise and staying hydrated helps a lot. Also, regular check-ups with my doctor have been crucial in monitoring my kidney function. This medication is powerful, but it requires careful management.

I wish there were more alternatives. Tiopronin is the only game in town for cystinuria, and it's a shame because the side effects can be pretty harsh.

Tiopronin has been a game-changer for me. I've had cystinuria for years and this medication has significantly reduced the formation of new stones. I had to deal with some gastrointestinal issues at first, but they subsided after a few weeks. Stay hydrated and keep an eye on your diet, it helps a lot.
