I've recently started chemotherapy, and my doctor prescribed Akynzeo Inj to prevent nausea. It's given by IV and is a combination of two medicines to prevent chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. The side effects can be severe, including allergic reactions and serotonin syndrome, which is scary and needs immediate medical attention. I’m curious if anyone else has had experience with this medication. Were the side effects manageable? Did the treatment work well, or did you experience significant issues? Any advice or sharing experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I was on Akynzeo for a while and didn't experience any of the serious side effects. I did have some redness around the injection site, but it went away quickly. Stay in touch with your doctor and monitor how you feel.

Don't worry, Akynzeo is pretty safe overall. Some people do have issues, so it’s good to be aware. My side effects were minor, but I know others had more trouble. If you have specific concerns, definitely talk to your medical team. Good luck!

I felt really tired and weak after my treatments with Akynzeo. It was hard to function, but the nausea was so much better than the exhaustion. Again, it’s worth speaking with your doctor about managing any side effects.

I feel for you, chemo is rough. Akynzeo is pretty new to me, but it sounds like it’s designed to block those nausea signals in your body. Hopefully, you’ll have a good experience with it!

Serotonin syndrome sounds intense. I didn’t experience that, but I did get some muscle twitching. My doctor said it was minor and something to keep an eye on. I guess everyone reacts differently to this med.

Reporting side effects to the FDA is important. If you experience something unusual, make sure to document it. Every bit of data helps improve future treatments for others. Hang in there!

I was prescribed Akynzeo too, it was a life-saver. No more puking after my chemo treatments, but I did get a little shivering and shaking. My doctor said it wasn’t too serious, just something to watch out for. Worth it for the relief from the nausea.
