I'm starting Azacitidine 100mg Inj for my MDS treatment and I'm nervous about the potential side effects. Has anyone else been through this? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad. Also, any tips on managing side effects would be greatly appreciated! I'm especially worried about the more serious side effects like infections, bleeding, and severe skin problems. How common are these, and what should I be looking out for? I don’t have MDS, but my wife is taking this for her AML. Biggest thing we’ve noticed are the common cold symptoms. She’s also been extra fatigued, but she’s handling it pretty well so far. Just wish the nausea would go away.
I've had some trouble with low potassium levels. My doctor put me on a potassium supplement, and that's helped a lot. Just be sure to monitor and report any muscle issues.
This stuff is no joke. I've had some really bad mouth sores and irritation. The emla cream helped, but it was rough for a while. Hope you have an easier time!
You'll get through this! My aunt was on Azacitidine and she's doing great today. Just stay positive and keep communicating with your care team.
