Hair loss was the worst for me. I ended up not being able to go out or even be seen for a few weeks. Trying to find good wigs was a nightmare. So definitely do some research on that before you lose your hair.
This stuff is rough, but it's important to remember why you're going through it. You are fighting for your life. Just take it one day at a time and don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it.
I've seen some really bad reactions to Cytarabine, but I also know people who've had very mild side effects. Try to stay positive and don't let the possible side effects overwhelm you. Stay close to your doctor and report any issues immediately.
I had a really bad reaction to Cytarabine. I developed severe mouth sores and had trouble eating. My oncologist switched me to a different chemotherapy drug and it was much easier on my body. Talk to your doctor if the side effects become unbearable.
Cytarabine was a tough one for me too. The hair loss was the hardest to deal with, but it was temporary. Make sure to talk to your doctor about wigs or hairpieces if it gets to you. Also, staying hydrated and eating small meals frequently really helped with the nausea and stomach issues.
