I've been dealing with cancer and my doctor prescribed me Dexrazoxane 500mg Inj alongside my chemotherapy. Has anyone else had experience with this? My doctor mentioned it's to protect my heart, but I'm curious about side effects and how it feels. Any thoughts on how effective it is? I'm also wondering how common these side effects are. I've been looking into the side effects list and it seems extensive

I've been on it for a while now, and honestly, I've had no issues with it. My oncologist explained that it significantly reduces the risk of heart damage from my chemo, the trade off for me was worth it.

I'm really glad I found this thread. I'm starting Dexrazoxane soon and was really worried about side effects but I hoping to get some anecdotes to brace for what I might be experiencing

I had some trouble with itchiness and a mild rash at the injection site, but my doctor said it was normal. Just make sure to stay on top of any infection or bleeding symptoms.

I had no idea this even existed. I've been on chemo for a while and my doctor never mentioned this. How do you know if it's worth it? My oncologist mentioned something about this but I didn't think much of it

Make sure to report any side effects to your doctor. Even if they seem minor, it could help others in the long run. Also, keep track of any changes in your mood or heart rate.

I didn't have a lot of side effects, but I did notice some muscle cramps and weakness. I wasn't sure if it was from the Dexrazoxane or the chemo, so I talked to my doctor and they adjusted my electrolytes. It was a bit inconvenient, but it was manageable

I’ve read that some people experience severe side effects like allergic reactions. If you notice anything like rash, hicess, or trouble breathing, seek medical help ASAP.

I've gone through a few rounds of Dexrazoxane and the worst I had was some nausea and a bit of fatigue. It was a small price to pay to protect my heart during chemo. Just make sure to stay hydrated and listen to your body.

You won't believe how much my oncologist recommended this when I just really needed some guidance on what to expect from Dexrazoxane. I went from being terrified to very relieved. I've had dark circles, and some trouble urinating at times, but I just love how supportive this group is. Also, keep an eye out for any changes in bowel movements, it can be a bit scary at first
