I recently started my 10-year-old son on Intuniv 2mg (Guanfacine ER) for his ADHD. I'm curious to hear from other parents who have experience with this medication. How has it worked for your children? Have you noticed significant improvements in focus and behavior? What side effects, if any, have you encountered? I'd love to hear both positive and negative experiences to better understand what we might be in for. Additionally, any tips on managing side effects would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

We were happy with the results. My son was able to pay attention for longer periods. The side effects were minor, and my doctor helped us manage them.

I've heard good things about Intuniv, but every child is different. You need to closely monitor for any side effects. If something feels off, trust your instincts and talk to your doctor.

Intuniv might be too strong for some people. Another parent suggested you can ask about the dose being lowered when things like this happen.

Intuniv has been a game-changer for our family. My daughter's focus and impulsivity have improved tremendously, this is the first month she was able to focus on her school work for more than 15 minutes. The only side effect we've noticed is some drowsiness, but it's manageable. It's great to see her thriving!

My daughter was on Intuniv for a couple of months. I'm not sure if it was the drug or the time of year, but she seemed to have a lot of trouble sleeping while on it.

My child is on a lower dose and is responding positively. We didn't want to give him a high dose.

I had to switch my child to a different medication because of the side effects. And now he is doing well.
