Lybalvi is a relatively new medication combining olanzapine and samidorphan. The addition of samidorphan is designed to mitigate the weight gain and metabolic changes often associated with olanzapine. This makes Lybalvi potentially groundbreaking for treating schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. However, it's crucial to be aware of the side effects. Has anyone tried Lybalvi? What have your experiences been, both positive and negative? I'm interested in hearing from those who've transitioned from olanzapine alone to this combination medication.

I was on olanzapine for a while and gained a lot of weight. I'm considering switching to Lybalvi—how bad is the withdrawal from olanzapine when you switch? Any tips for making the transition smoother?

Thrills of modern medicine: a pill to alleviate the side effects of an old pill. It's like a pill to take the edge off of another pill. It's not too bad overall though.

I switched to Lybalvi a few months ago. I've noticed a significant reduction in the amount of weight I've gained compared to when I was just on olanzapine, but it's still early. Also, I'm not experiencing the same level of drowsiness I felt before. I'd recommend discussing this with your doctor if you want to switch.

I think this medication is a game-changer, especially for people who have struggled with weight gain on olanzapine alone. I've been on it for a year, and while I've had some minor side effects, the control over my bipolar symptoms is worth it.

I've been on Lybalvi for about six months now, and while it's definitely helped with my bipolar symptoms, I've experienced some minor side effects like dizziness and dry mouth. Nothing too severe, though. I just wish the drowsiness would go away, but I know I'll have to talk to my doctor about that.

My doctor mentioned the risk of tardive dyskinesia and neuroleptic malignant syndrome—that's pretty scary stuff. How do you even know if you're experiencing these symptoms? It's hard to just Google them and figure it out on my own.

Have any of you also noticed changes in your metabolism? Like, I had a slight increase in appetite but nothing too crazy yet. It's kind of surprising, honestly, given the horror stories I've heard about olanzapine.

Sounds promising, but I'm really concerned about the potential side effects. Has anyone else had issues with high blood sugar or movement problems?
