I was prescribed Nilutamide 150mg Tablets along with surgery to remove the testicles for my metastatic prostate cancer. My oncologist explained that Nilutamide helps by blocking the effects of male hormones that can cause the cancer to grow. I'm wondering if anyone else has started this treatment and can share their experiences, especially with side effects? I've read about some serious ones, like allergic reactions and high blood pressure, but it seems rare. I'm also curious about less severe side effects, like hot flashes and hair loss. Has anyone found ways to manage these? I'm hopeful that sharing our experiences can help others navigating this treatment.

I experienced severe itching and a rash when I first started Nilutamide. Thought it might be an allergic reaction, so I rushed to the ER. Doctor said it wasn't that bad, a mild reaction actually, and prescribed some topical cream. It cleared up in a week. Want to add that frequent UTIs are a thing for me too, so I'm always on the lookout for those symptoms.

Anyone else experiencing erectile dysfunction? I miss my pre-Nilutamide self, but I guess it's a small price to pay for staying alive.

I've been on Nilutamide for a few months now, and while it's been effective, the hot flashes are no joke. I've started using a fan by my bed and dressing in layers to help manage them. Also, don't forget to stay hydrated! It helps with the fatigue and nausea.

My dad was on this and his hair fell out within a month. He was really self-conscious about it, but he just needed to take the time to process everything. Lots of love to all the patients out there.

Nilutamide saved my life, but it's been a tough journey. The flu-like symptoms were the worst for me. I felt like I had the flu for months. My doctor recommended some over-the-counter remedies to help with the symptoms, which made a big difference.
