I've been prescribed Olanzapine 5mg Tablets for my bipolar disorder and have had a mix of positive and negative experiences. It's been a bit of a journey balancing the benefits and side effects. I'm curious to hear from others who've taken this medication for schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. How have you managed the side effects? Has anyone tried combining it with other treatments or therapies? I've found that regular exercise helps mitigate some of the drowsiness, but I'm always looking for more tips. Also, how long did it take for the medication to start working for you? Did you experience any of the more severe side effects? Let's share our stories and support each other.

Only thing that works for me is to take it only at my night time. It helps me sleep longer, so I don't stay awake all night thinking about things. That's the advice to everyone. It's always a good idea to take it before bedtime, you will thank me later.

I'm pretty sure my medication isn't working. It's been a few months but I still feel like I'm experiencing the same symptoms. Anyone else had this experience?

Definitely agree on the increased appetite and weight gain. It's as if your body just wants to eat non-stop. For me, portion control and avoiding snacks between meals has been the trick. As far as the benefits, Olanzapine has been a lifesaver for my bipolar disorder. My therapist recommended it, and I've seen a huge improvement in my mood stability. It's not a cure, but it's made a world of difference. I'm trying to keep up with my workouts regularly.

I took this medication for my schizophrenic friend's delusions and hallucinations. It was scary at first, but the medication has worked wonders in managing the symptoms. The weight gain and sleepiness are real, but the severe side effects seem to be rare. My friend actually told me about the dizziness and fainting spells. I think it's important to stay informed and keep an open line of communication with your healthcare provider.

My sister is on Olanzapine and she's been doing great! It's a relief to see her symptoms under control. She did have some weight gain, but it's manageable. Just remember, everyone's experience is different, so don't be discouraged if it doesn't work perfectly for you. Keeping your doctor updated can also provide some peace of mind. Drink lots of water when you take this medication!

How did you manage the drowsiness? I'm feeling so tired all the time. My doctor told me the symptoms would lessen over time, but I'm still struggling. Should I just try to adjust my schedule?

I've been on Olanzapine for a few months now, and it's been a game-changer for my schizophrenia symptoms. The drowsiness was rough at first, but it got better with time. One thing that really helped was breaking my dose into smaller increments throughout the day. I also had some weight gain, but switching to a healthier diet helped a lot. Be sure to keep your doctor in the loop about any side effects you're experiencing.

I feel you on the weight gain. I started Olanzapine 5mg Tablets a few years ago, and the increased appetite was a nightmare. I ended up switching to a low-carb diet and started running again. It helped a lot, but it was a tough adjustment. As for the severe side effects, I've been lucky so far and haven't had any issues beyond the usual ones.

I was prescribed Olanzapine for my bipolar disorder, but I had to stop due to severe dizziness and fainting spells. It was terrifying. I switched to another medication, and it's been much better for me. I wish I had known about the severe side effects before starting, but my psychiatrist says they're rare. But still, my advice: pay attention to that list of serious side effects!
