I've recently been prescribed Pirfenidone 267mg Capsules to manage my idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). I'm curious to hear from others who have experience with this medication. How has it affected your daily life? What side effects have you encountered, and how did you manage them? Any tips on dealing with the common side effects like stomach pain or trouble sleeping?

I had a mild allergic reaction the first week I started taking it and since my doctor told me I should stop treating. I think It might be different for everyone but it was pretty scary.

I’m so glad I found this thread. I've been on Pirfenidone for a few weeks and it’s been a roller coaster. The side effects are rough, but I'm trying to stick with it. I've been getting lots of headaches, and I've also experienced some joint pain. Any tips on managing these would be appreciated.

I've been on Pirfenidone for a while now, and while the side effects are a pain, I feel like it's worth it to slow down the progression of my IPF. If you're having trouble with the daily side effects then talk to your doctor. I found that taking it on an empty stomach helps a lot.

I read somewhere you should take pirofenidone with food. I took a few times without and it kicked my stomach's butt.

Pirfenidone was a game-changer for me. I've had IPF for years and tried a few different things to manage my symptoms, but this was the first treatment that made a noticeable difference in how I feel day to day.

I've been on Pirfenidone for about six months now, and it's definitely helped slow down the progression of my IPF. The side effects were tough at first—lots of stomach issues and fatigue—but my doctor helped me manage them with some dietary changes and adjustments to my medication schedule.

That's a great question. The dietary changes that worked for me were more about avoiding trigger foods rather than sticking to a strict diet. For me personally, spicy food was a definite no-no, and even some dairy products caused issues.

Just wanted to mention that it’s important to stay in touch with your doctor and share any and all side effects you experience. My doctor was really helpful in monitoring my liver function and adjusting the dosage when needed.

I've tried Ofev before taking a Pirfenidone and the side effects were way worse for me. I've been on Pirfenidone for over a year and feel steady. Doesn't seem like I'm getting worse
