I've been prescribed Sulfasalazine EC 500mg DR Tablets to manage my ulcerative colitis. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I'm curious to hear about other people's experiences, both good and bad. Did you notice any significant improvements in your symptoms? How long did it take for the medication to start working? What side effects did you experience? Any tips for managing these side effects or making the medication more effective? I'm particularly concerned about the potential severe side effects, so any insights on recognizing and handling those would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for sharing your stories!

I've been thinking about starting this medication for my ulcerative colitis, but I'm really worried about the side effects, especially the severe ones. Has anyone had any really bad experiences? I want to be prepared if I decide to go ahead with it.

I made the mistake of taking it on an empty stomach. My stomach was not happy, and I had to switch my meal times to accommodate. Now, no more issues.

I've been on Sulfasalazine for about 6 months now for my rheumatoid arthritis. It's been a game-changer for me. I noticed a significant reduction in joint pain and inflammation within a couple of weeks. As for side effects, I've had some stomach upset and headaches, but nothing too severe. I find that taking it with food helps a lot. Stay on top of any changes in your health, and if you experience any of the serious symptoms, don't hesitate to call your doctor.

I got the unfortunate side effect of temporary hair loss. My doc said that it can happen sometimes, and it should grow back if I stay on the medication. If you experience hair loss, don’t worry—it’s temporary for most people.

I started taking Sulfasalazine for my ulcerative colitis, and it's been a bit of a roller coaster. I had some really bad stomach pain and vomiting at first, but my doctor adjusted the dose, and it's been much better. I'm glad I stuck with it because I've seen some improvement in my symptoms. I wish they had a delayed-release capsule instead of tablets, but I'm getting used to taking it with food.
