I've been taking Doxycycline Hyclate 200mg delayed-release tablets for the past few months for severe acne. At first, I was worried about all the potential side effects, but I've managed to deal with the minor ones. I've had some stomach upset and diarrhea, which is manageable. It's great that the tablets are delayed-release, as this helps with the stomach issues. The more serious side effects haven't occurred, thankfully! I've heard scary stories about some of these, like the ones with severe stomach or vision problems. I had no idea these things could happen with an antibiotic, but I guess it's worth it in my case. I haven't noticed any changes in my skin yet, but my doctor says it can take a while for the effects to show. Also, I was surprised to learn this could be used for various other infections, not just acne. I report severe side effects to FDA through https://www.fda.gov/medwatch.. What's your experience with Doxycycline? Have you had any really bad side effects?

This sounds horrible. I wouldn't take this if I had any other option. I've had bad experiences with antibiotics before, but this one seems way too risky.

I actually got really bad hives a while ago. It looked like the rash from chicken pox, I had no clue what it was! So I just went to the ER and they told me it was an allergic reaction to the medication. It was hard for me to deal with these reactions, but I guess it's worth it in the end. I know people who had bad reactions too.

The delayed-release tablets have been a lifesaver for me. I had terrible stomach issues with regular antibiotics, but these have been much easier to handle. Still, I'm always on the lookout for any serious side effects, especially the ones that could be life-threatening.

Has anyone experienced any vision problems? I've heard that can be really serious. I'm hoping not to have any issues, but I'm nervous.

I've been on Doxycycline multiple times for different infections. First time was for eye infection, and a second time was for a UTI. The side effects were minimal, but I did experience some diarrhea and a mild stomach upset. I just made sure to drink plenty of water and take a probiotic, which helped a lot.

I got really sick with a severe sore throat and fever while on Doxycycline. I ended up having to go to the ER because I thought I was having a serious reaction. The doctors weren't sure why, but they said it could be a rare side effect. I've been much more careful about monitoring my health since then.

I had to stop taking it because of an allergic reaction, I broke out in hives and it was itchy and miserable. I had to take Benadryl and it was awful.

I know this is off-topic, but if you get a yeast infection from taking this, is it safe to use treatments? I think I may have one, but I wasn't sure if I should use the over-the-counter stuff.

I've been on Doxycycline for a urinary tract infection, and it was great for that but I did have some pretty bad diarrhea. I was so scared it could be C. diff! I ended up going to the doctor and they told me it was just the antibiotics causing it. Not fun, but at least it wasn't serious.
