I was recently prescribed Lithobid 300mg CR Tablets to help manage my bipolar disorder. I've been taking it for a few months now, and I've noticed a significant improvement in my mood swings. However, I've also experienced some side effects, like dizziness and upset stomach. Has anyone else had similar experiences? How did you cope with the side effects? I'm also curious about how often I should get my blood levels checked. My doctor mentioned it's important, but I'm not sure how frequently it should be done. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I think Lithobid helps a lot, but I've had a few times where taking it makes me feel hyper. I've reduced the time between doses, and it has helped a lot. Worth talking to your doctor about.

Dry mouth was a huge issue for me, but sucking on hard candy helped a lot. Not ideal, but better than feeling like a cotton ball in my mouth.

I've had some mood changes from Lithobid. My doc suggested reducing the dosage and adding another mood stabilizer. It's been a bit of trial and error.

Lithobid can be tough on your kidneys, so make sure to get regular kidney function tests along with your blood level checks.

I've been on Lithobid for years, and it's been a game-changer. The side effects are manageable, especially if you stay hydrated and watch your diet. Blood tests every 3 months are standard, but talk to your doctor about what's best for you. It's crucial to maintain the right lithium levels in your blood.

I had a pretty bad reaction to Lithobid. I had some serious side effects and had to switch to another medication. It's definitely not for everyone.

I switched to a different brand and it made all the difference for me. I recommend trying different brands if you're struggling with side effects.

I'm on Lithobid and have seen a lot of people getting excited about how it works, but make sure to monitor your sodium levels. This is really important and this is not something I've seen mentioned in other comments. Too much or too little sodium will significantly affect how Lithobid works for you.

Does anyone else have a hard time swallowing Lithobid? I'm thinking of asking my doctor about a liquid version.
